
Four researchers represented the Institute on Aging at the Padua Days of Muscle and Mobility Medicine in Padua, Italy, including associate directors of the Institute, Stephen Anton and Christiaan Leeuwenburgh, who also served on the conference organizing committee.
Stephen Anton co-chaired Session III, “Compete against yourself to control body weight and rejuvenate muscles,” and presented on “Commonalities in lifestyle factors among octogenarians.”
Christiaan Leeuwenburgh co-chaired Session VIII, “ELSEVIER Symposium on Biology of Aging Unpacked: Implications for Geroscience and Healthspan” and presented “Longitudinal study in low and high functioning older healthy adults: Preliminary data on plasma metabolomics and muscle DNA methylation,” alongside co-investigators Xiaoxiao Wen, Jinying Zhao, and Stephen Anton.
IOA visiting researcher Stefano Cacciatore presented “Interplay of sensory function, mobility and cognition within the intrinsic capacity framework.”
Postdoctoral fellow Rola S. Zeidan presented “Circulating hematologic signatures distinguish low vs high physical function in older adults.”
