Gauthami Balagopal, trainee in the Biology of Aging Division, has received the University Scholars award to continue working on her research.
Additionally, Gauthami has received an award through the Howard Hughes Medical Institute UF Science for Life program for co-authoring the journal article “Role of mitochondrial dysfunction and autophagy in cardiovascular aging and disease: from mechanisms to therapeutics.”, published in the American Journal of Physiology – Heart and Circulatory Physiology. 2013 Aug 15; 305 (4).This award aims to encourage undergraduate students in publishing early in their career.
