Geriatric Medicine Division
The overall goal of the physicians of the Division of Geriatric Medicine led by Dr. Laurence Solberg is to provide state-of-the-art health care to older adults, with a focus on caring, respect, understanding and communication.
The Division provides geriatric primary care for older patients at the new UF Health Senior Care in the Clinical and Translational Research Building (for appointments and directions please call 352-265-0615). Division physicians also serve as Medical Director at Oak Hammock at the University of Florida, an innovative retirement community where the focus is on lifelong learning, fitness and health; and as staff physicians at the Malcom Randall VAMC Geriatrics Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC) , where the focus is on providing the best of care to the aging veterans.
The University of Florida’s Division of Geriatric Medicine and Department of Aging and Geriatric Research, along with the VA GRECC strive to provide excellent clinical care in the management of the geriatric specific health issues. Our clinical programs foster the development of an interdisciplinary system of integrated health care for older adults, with the provision of “one-stop” state-of-the-art health care for frail and more healthy older persons. Referral and consultation networks among geriatric medicine and all the health professions are key components of this integration.
