Department of Aging and Geriatric Research: Divisions
The Department of Aging and Geriatric Research serves as support infrastructure for the Institute on Aging and as academic home for faculty members from diverse disciplines who wish to pursue a career primarily focused on aging and independence.The Department and Institute’s mission is to improve the health, independence and quality of life of older adults by means of interdisciplinary teams in the areas of research, education and health care.
The Department has four divisions:
- Biology of Aging (Division Chief: Christiaan Leeuwenburgh, Ph.D.)
- Career Development and Education (Division Chief: Laurence Solberg, M.D.).
- Clinical Research (Division Chief: Stephen Anton, Ph.D.)
- Geriatric Medicine (Division Chief: Laurence Solberg, M.D.).
The Department is supported by an experienced administrative team led by Lauren Crump, MPH, Associate Director and Vice Chair for Administration and Finance.
